Trout Season Opens April 4

Across Pennsylvania

Anglers across Pennsylvania are preparing for the opening day of trout season, set for Saturday, April 4 at 8 a.m.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has stocked approximately 3.2 million adult trout in waterways statewide, providing strong opportunities for fishing enthusiasts throughout the region.

Residents planning to participate are reminded that anyone 16 years or older must have both a valid fishing license and a trout permit.

Officials encourage anglers to review stocking schedules online to identify popular and recently stocked locations, including waterways near the Collegeville area.

Lobster, Wings and Happy Hour

at Trappe Tavern

The Trappe Tavern is highlighting its weekly lineup of food, drinks and entertainment with a series of specials every Wednesday.

Happy Hour runs from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring drink specials, followed by the availability of live Maine lobsters starting at 4 p.m. Later in the evening, guests can take advantage of a wing and pitcher special from 9 to 11 p.m.

The venue also offers a lively atmosphere for sports fans, with Philadelphia Phillies games broadcast across multiple TVs.

Organizers say the weekly event is designed to provide a welcoming midweek destination for the community, including nearby Ursinus College students.

Live Music Night Brings Indie

Rock Lineup to Oaks

A night of live music featuring emerging regional talent is set for April 4 at The Water Tower in Oaks, bringing together three bands for an evening of high-energy performances.

Headlining the lineup is PIKNIK, a Philadelphia-based band that has quickly gained traction with its blend of indie and alternative rock, known for energetic live shows and a strong DIY approach.

Joining them is Fuzztide Jones, delivering a sound rooted in garage rock with heavy riffs and psychedelic influences, and Post Boredom, a rising act combining indie rock and post-punk energy with fast-paced, guitar-driven performances.

The event will also feature a Sly Fox Beer Happy Hour from 7 to 9 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. and music running from 8 to 11 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
